02. Article pick: Improving soil health stores carbon
In this article, reported by The Guardian, a study has found that “Using better farming techniques to store 1% more carbon in about half of the world’s agricultural soils would be enough to absorb about 31 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide a year.” This projection is only a sliver away from the 32 gigatonne reduction required by 2030 to keep global warming within 1.5C.
