01. Article pick 1: ‘Feathered Intelligence, The Way We Think And Learn About Birds’
“Studying the intelligence of birds is not a new concept, but a reminder of organised social groups, teamwork tactics and territorial defence we can relate to in our own existence.”
This is an 8-minute read that dives into the social nature of birds, and how considering and observing them can help us identify more about ourselves and how we interact with our own species.
"Remembering African Wild Dogs"
02. Book pick: ‘Remembering African Wild Dogs’
A brand new collaborative photobook on African Wild Dogs, “Remembering African Wild Dogs” is the sixth book in the Remembering Wildlife series. The series was created by British wildlife photographer Margot Raggett after she was moved to take action upon seeing a poached elephant in Kenya, and this book was specifically created to bring awareness to the endangered wild dogs in Africa and the amazing creatures they are. It features mindblowing images by over 70 of the world’s top wildlife photographers, and the best part is that all profits from the sale of this book are donated to projects working to protect wild dogs in Africa (more than $1 million has been raised by the series to date!).
Books went on sale earlier this month and can be purchased at buyrememberingwildlife.com. It is also available on Amazon.

03. Article pick 2: ‘California angler rescues whale entangled in lobster trap’
If you’re looking for a mood boost, this is a heartwarming news story about a group of friends that rescue a humpback whale while out on a fishing trip off the coast of Point Lima. Check out the video for the whole story, as well as actual footage of the man jumping in the water to save it, and the whale coming back to say “thank you.”
